Osprey w/ Headless Fish

I have taken so few opportunities to photograph wildlife in the last three years that I’m afraid I’ve forgotten how. My 400mm lens rarely leaves the house.

And osprey? They are as common in these parts as vultures. So much so that I once vowed never to bother photographing them again.

🙂  But I’ve rarely made a vow I didn’t mind breaking. 🙂

    1. Yes, I’ve noticed that there are chunks of the United States they don’t frequent. Wonder why they don’t like your area? Do you have vultures/buzzards? 🙂

      1. Buzzards are numerous. No idea why osprey don’t seem to be here. I’ll need to do some digging on that. We do have peregrine falcons and occasional bald eagles.

    1. Just to underscore how far I’ve strayed from bird/wildlife photography . . . I mentioned leaving my 400mm lens at home, and totally forgot that about a year ago I bought a 500mm lens. Have used it so little that I totally I forgot that I even had it. 😀

Looking forward to your shore pics complete with sunsets and umbrella drinks.

      1. Holy moly!! You should really try it for street photography. You’re in no one’s face. And people seem to accept it as they think you’re a pro on some kind of assignment.
