When you’re retired – or, like me, even if you just pretend to be retired – you can celebrate anything anytime, for no reason.
So if turkey is flying out the door at fifty-nine cents a pound, why not have Thanksgiving dinner two weeks early!
The thing about cooking bird at elevation, however, is that it is more of an art than a science. Forget about 20 minutes/lb. at 325 degrees. You would starve to death before it’s done. Try 340 degrees for 30 minutes a pound and open a bottle of wine in the interim.
🙂 🙂 🙂 A good time was had by all 🙂 🙂 🙂

Okay – so there was the pesky chore of cleaning up after a big meal. But that’s what dishwashers are for.
Once we cleared the table & stacked the dirty dishes in the machine, it was time to play poker.
All the money goes into a pool. Once a month or so we split it & take ourselves out to dinner at a nice restaurant.
Sounds good – but the bottom line is that the loser is in effect picking up most of the tab 😦 Since that’s usually my role, it’s probably a good thing that I’m hittin’ the road again tomorrow 🙂
Now that looks like a wonderful meal and a great time 🙂 MJ
